Update linked model

When creating a BIM project, it's of utmost importance to have a good folder system, it's recommended to have at least three folders, Model / Export / Linked models. Naming convention is not set in stone. All files linked to the model should be placed directly in the folder Linked models.

In the linked model's folder, have another for all the history of all the files downloaded. 

Name the folder with the date and which formats have been downloaded, such as rvt / dwg / ifc / pdf. It's also possible to use which stage the files are from. The files downloaded should have identical names as the files in "Linked models", which are the files that are linked into the project.

Save the new files directly to the back-ups folder, copy them from the back-ups folder to the Linked models folder. Replace the files, do not create copies. The files in Revit will automatically update the next time the project is opened, or manually reload. It's not necessary to choose "reload from ..."

When loading a new model, first check if there are any warnings when opening.

1. If there are any spaces not enclosed,
   
   Expand the warning and export the IDs to easily find which floors they are located on.
   

   1. To find which floor plan the leaking spaces are located, go to Manage -> Select by id.
      

      

   2. Copy the id from the exported file where it was saved. In Properties read which floor plan it's connected to.
      

   3. Open a view and check what has happened.
      
      

      Correct the error, by either deleting the space or manually move the space to the new placement.

2. Check whether any changes with copy/monitor, i.e. levels changed heights/name.
   

   1. If copy/monitor gives an error when opening, open an 3D view and select the link. Open Coordination Review.
      

      

   2. In the dialogue box, it lists all the changes that have been done in the linked model.
      
      
      

   3. In the action drop-down, it's possible to postpone, reject, accept difference or move with the linked object.
      

   4. Once the "set-up" changes have been dealt with, it's possible to check all the connected objects. Follow the workflow set Audit Trail.
3. Orphaned Elements, if the architect deletes rooms the room tags gets orphaned, and can be deleted from the orphaned tag window.
   
4. Audit Trail - Open Audit trail and check all objects that have been updated or deleted.
   1. Check which floors have been affected.
      
   2. Tag symbols
      
   3. This will colour the elements in the Modified & Deleted views using view filters.
