Use titleblock from link

Often is the case that the project's Titleblock and assigned parameters are already used in the architect model. This is a short guide on how to transfer a Titleblock from a linked model into the specialist model.

1. In the project, open (and unload) the linked file with the Titleblock and Titleblock information.
   
   Press ok to continue.
   
2. In Project Browser in the Architect model, create a new sheet list. 
   
   Note: Some of the parameters are sheet-specific, such as scale, issued date and level. These parameters are connected to sheets and can be easily copied to the specialist model via the schedule. Once the parameters are copied, it's possible to edit those labels on the Titleblock. Otherwise, those parameters will just be read-only.
   
   
3. Now it becomes more difficult. Which parameters will be different in each project. In the left column shows all the parameters that are assigned to sheets in this specific project. Contact the BIM Coordinator / Architect of the project if necessary to know exactly which ones. It's often common that they have a prefix or local language.
   
   Not recommended: It is possible to move all to the right column. But might copy several parameters that never going to be used in the project.
   
   Finish with ok
4.  
   Give the schedule a unique name and drag and drop the schedule onto a sheet.
   
    

5. Select both the schedule and Titleblock, use copy to clipboard.
   
   

6. Jump back to the specialist model and paste them both into a sheet view.

   The notification tells that it already exist some of the information is being pasted and it will use the engineering model’s settings

7. Some of the parameters that are used on sheets are project-specific. These are parameters which should be the same on all the drawings. Such as project Name, project address, and consultants.

   To transfer the parameters from the linked file to the model, it will be copied by using Transfer Project Standards.

   Manage → Transfer project Standards
   

8. Check none and then select:

   • Project Info
     

9. Same as before, just select overwrite.

   

10. Close the tab with the open linked model, don’t save.

    Reload the link in the project browser.
    

Now it's possible to edit the parameters in the titleblock. Place the views on the sheets.
