- Ensure that the parameters the specialist sent have been loaded into the project. Read more about that here.
- Have the receiver installed, download it here:
- The receiver will appear under the Add-in tab. This is the tool that pulls the data from the specialist model.
- In the drop-down, choose the specialist model and press import. This will load the data defined in their Import Mapping onto the objects in the model.
Note: When importing, the software will own all elements in the imported category. Make sure to be alone in the model before importing.
Common issues:
- If there are two versions of NaviateBImport20XX installed, it will not work. Make sure only one version is installed. (the version numbers in the screenshot can be ignored. Install the latest version from the top of this article to make sure the latest version is installed.)
- It doesn't import any data and just closes the import dialogue. This is a known bug in 2024 January update. What has happened is that the specialist hasn't defined Import Mappings in their model. The dialogue which should prompt the user doesn't work properly.
