Important - New licensing in the Naviate for Revit 2025 Products!

2 min. readlast update: 12.03.2024

From release of Naviate for Revit 2025 there will be some changes in how we do the license check on our Naviate products.

This new licensing method is impacting the following products when released on 2025.

  • Naviate Architecture
  •  Naviate Structure
  • Naviate Electrical
  • Naviate HVAC
  • Naviate MEP
  • Naviate Fabrication
  • Naviate Site & Landscaping

Current License Check: Currently, your license validation is performed based on your discipline-specific product. This means that if you hold a license for any of the products listed above, you are automatically granted access to Naviate Accelerate as well.

New License Check (Effective from Naviate for Revit 2025 Release): Starting with the release of Naviate for Revit 2025, the license check will be done directly on the Naviate Accelerate product itself, regardless of your access to any discipline-specific products listed above.

To accommodate this change, we have added additional Naviate Accelerate licenses to the license portal. The number of these new licenses corresponds exactly to the number of licenses you hold for your discipline-specific product.

Important: License Assignment Process

To ensure that users have access to both the base product, Naviate Accelerate, and a specific discipline product (e.g., Naviate Architecture), it is crucial to assign both licenses to each user. This ensures seamless access to all necessary tools.

Recommended Method (Only supported for Multi-User licenses)

Using the “Tag” Feature in the License Portal: The most efficient way to manage license assignments is by using the “Tag” feature. Follow these steps:

  1. Create a Tag: Name the tag according to the product, such as “Architecture” or “Naviate Architecture.”
  2. Assign the Tag to Users: Apply this tag to all users who require access to Naviate Architecture.
  3. Add the Tag to the License: Switch to using "Tags" and add this tag to the "Architecture" license and "Accelerate" license as well.
  4. Result: Once a user is assigned to this tag, they will automatically receive both licenses associated with it.

Alternative Method (Both Singel-User & Multi-User Licenses)

Manual License Assignment If you prefer not to use the Tag feature, you can manually assign users by individually going to each license (Naviate Architecture and Naviate Accelerate) and assigning the user to both licenses.

Using the Tag method simplifies license management, particularly when assigning multiple users.
